CHEFA/CHESLA Staff Employee Retreat & Strategy Session
What do you do when a new client needs to shake up their staff retreat? You bring your A-game. Basketball game, to be specific. And create a fun, interactive and highly productive event with a basketball theme that employees STILL talk about.
Connecticut Health & Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA) asked us to create a day-long event for their entire staff. Their objective was to introduce a new 3-year strategic plan and brainstorm tactics to achieve their goals. Additionally, CHEFA wanted an event that brought the staff together, building connections and teamwork between departments and managerial levels.
Building on a basketball theme, Ink&Pixel created a full branded treatment for all print materials, online presentations, merchandise, directional signage, and giveaways. Incorporating university partner logos, employees were divided into basketball teams as they participated in social and work-related activities.
Ink&Pixel served as the event’s official coach and referee (hence the stripes!). We created and managed the agenda, including kicking off the meeting with an interactive presentation on brainstorming techniques. Before the more serious work began, teams were challenged by a fully customized Jeopardy! game (Noemi does a terrific Alex Trebek impression). Ink&Pixel created questions related to CHEFA/CHESLA’s businesses and products. Staff then went to team brainstorming areas to discuss specific topics, with Ink&Pixel staff on-hand to help facilitate.
In the end, CHEFA/CHESLA gathered insightful feedback for their strategic plan, strengthened connections between work units, and re-energized staff about their role with CHEFA/CHESLA and it’s mission.
Slam dunk.
