Noemi is the Founding Principal and Creative Director of the award-winning Ink&Pixel Agency (formerly How2Design). She started the agency in 1994 and quickly built up a loyal client roster of every size and from every industry. With 35 years in the business, Noemi approaches each job with boundless creative energy, optimism and fresh thinking.
Born into a creative family, she spent her younger years observing and exploring art. Always encouraged to figure out what she loved and make that work, Noemi has been fortunate to have spent her entire career in a field that is challenging and inspiring on a daily basis. She attended UConn in Storrs, CT, where her father not only taught design but was her professor for four semesters. She received a BFA in Graphic Design. Hired after her very first job interview, she worked for Newman Design Associates, Peter Good Graphic Design and WYD Design, prior to opening up her own agency.
Her experience in all areas of creative development and design enables her to lead a team of industry specialists who provide a full complement of creative services for clients.
Based in the beautiful shoreline town of Guilford, CT, she’s worked with clients that include Fortune 10 companies and produced work in 14 languages. Her client portfolio represents a diverse range of industries, including pharmaceuticals and healthcare, finance, academia, insurance, consumer products, hospitality, food and beverage, and retail.
With a firm belief in social responsibility, she ensures Ink&Pixel gives back to the community by working with local non-profits, including Guilford Art Center, the town of Guilford, local politicians, Guilford High School, AW Cox Elementary School, Community Nursery School, and many others.
Noemi is currently chair of the School of Fine Arts Advisory Board for the dean. Noemi was a member of the inaugural board for Dean Anne D’alleva, who is now University Provost. Noemi taught Graphic Design at Middlesex Community College and continues to serve on their Board. Other memberships include American Institute of Graphic Arts, Connecticut Art Directors Club (past Vice President and Secretary, former board member), and Young Audiences of Connecticut (former board member). Noemi has spoken on many industry panels, including most recently at a screening of “She Started It”—an empowering documentary on female entrepreneurs in the technology and science fields. Noemi’s work has been recognized with multiple honors, including the coveted Richard Hess Spirit of Creativity Award, and she was one of only two women recognized as the top 20 Most Influential Creatives in Connecticut by ConnCreatives.
Noemi spent five years as Cultural Enrichment Chair at AW Cox Elementary School, where she loved introducing new artistic experiences to the next generation. She brought her energy and inspiration to the basketball court too, eight years as head coach of her daughter’s rec basketball team, winning the league championship in 2019. Her most important clients live in her Guilford home: husband Ted, and three children Nolan, Zophia and Sadie Bea.
What makes her love her job? EVERYTHING. It’s thinking. Strategy. Research. Concept. Design. The spark of an idea. The process of growth. The “ah-ha” moment when someone else gets it. And above all else – joy.
