Foxwoods Resort Casino
When most people think of Connecticut’s casinos, they think of gaming and restaurants and a lot of shopping. But there is a whole other business side to resorts like Foxwoods: conferences and events. To promote their facilities, Foxwoods needed some marketing.
We were brought on-board by a third-party team with whom we did a lot of work to pitch some ideas to Foxwoods. The task was a unique challenge for several reasons, but mainly for the sheer amount of information that needed to be included. We filtered through our many brainstorming ideas and developed two diverse options. The more avant-garde option utilized the folds of an exploding map, the kind that usually fit in pockets or wallets, and the more conventional option incorporated multi-folded tabbed inserts. The former was visual-heavy and directed planners to find more detailed information on the microsite we designed; the latter included an enormous amount of information in the printed piece, organized in a way that readers could find everything they needed, whether it was a corporate meeting or an extravagant wedding.
As designers, you know you’ve succeeded at your task when the client decides to produce more than one of your options for a single job! Foxwoods had both directions printed, and the microsite as well. When you give your clients options, they’re able to give their clients options as well!
