Carl’s Crusaders
You won’t find anyone who’s life hasn’t been touched by cancer. The year she was Noemi’s daughter’s nursery school teacher, Stacey Hubbard suddenly lost her firefighter husband, Carl — whom she had known since she was five years old. As a cause that’s very close to our hearts, we have designed the fundraising tee shirts and swag for the riding team that Stacey began in Carl’s honor in the Closer to Free Ride for Smilow Cancer Hospital. Noemi and her daughter Sadie also participate as riders. In six years, Carl’s Crusaders has raised more than $500,000, and 100% of the money raised goes directly to Smilow Cancer Hospital.
Since the first Closer to Free Ride in 2011, riders, volunteers, sponsors and supporters have generated more than $15 Million for the life-saving and life changing work of Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. Please donate or volunteer — it is truly an inspiring experience. The next ride is scheduled for September 12th, 2020.
